This park features a number of sculptures and monuments which decorate the expanse of urban green, including a beautiful domed structure, known as Templo de Música, or the Temple of Music.

Also located just outside our hotel and within walking distance are a multitude of cultural museums and attractions. The Museo de Oro Precolombino or Museum of Precolumbian gold is located under the Plaza de la cultural  a short stroll from the hotel.  The impressive underground building that houses the exhibit creates a mysterious and dark background for the gleaming beauty of the golden pieces, which seem to float because they're suspended by transparent strings.   On the macabre side, the Museo Criminologico (criminology museum) is also located downtown with some pretty odd artifacts.  All of the main museums are in the downtown San Jose area or very close to it, and can be accessed easily by walking, by public bus, or by a short taxi ride.  

For art lovers, visit the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design inside CENAC or tour the Jade Museum in the Instituto Nacional de Seguros .  If you have kids, a great place to take them would be to the Simon Bolivar National Zoo on Avenue 11 or the Kids Museum on Calle 4. To get up close and personal with the residents of this city, visit the many local mercados or markets such as the Mercado Central on Avenue Central because shopping in San Jose is a tropical treat!
